Back in the late 70s / early 80s the more serious end of the music press behaved poorly. Not only being offensive to artists but to a whole generation of people they were not sympathetic to. And it was often all too easy to read between the lines that what really mattered to these journalists was their own relevance. They were incredibly negative and outspoken in their dissent with little or no filter. I really didn’t have any use for it. The more light-weight teeny magazines were on the other hand full of silly one-liners which would sometimes be hilariously inaccurate, but I can’t remember any of them.
